New poll shows Trump more popular than Hochul with New York voters

A new Siena College poll reveals former President Donald Trump is now more popular with New York voters than Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Trump holds a 39% favorability rating, compared to Hochul’s 34%. The poll shows Hochul struggling with record-low approval, with 54% of voters viewing her unfavorably.

Trump’s higher rating comes despite his unfavorable score of 57%. Hochul’s declining numbers coincide with economic concerns, as she highlights affordability measures like child tax credits and gas price reductions.

Hochul remains focused on regaining suburban congressional seats lost in 2022 while dismissing the poll, saying she has time to improve before her 2026 re-election bid.
