A two-car accident in the Town of Benton on Friday evening resulted in two people being transported to the hospital with injuries.
Deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of State Route 54 and Pre-Emption Road around 5:50 p.m., where an investigation revealed that Guido M. Cannata, 68, of Cicero, failed to yield at a stop sign, striking a vehicle driven by Brian J. Dillon, 36, of Dresden.
Dillon and his passenger were taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital with neck and back injuries. The Yates County Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
