The New York State Elks Association of the Western Central District held an “American Patriot Remembrance” ceremony in Seneca Falls recognizing veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. The event paid tribute to 87 veterans, with 31 honorees from Wayne County, celebrating their service with medals engraved with their names and affiliations.
Veterans from the Vietnam era made up the largest group, with 69 honored. Wayne County veterans included Sgt. Domenico Bartucca of Newark and E5 Robert K. Lockwood of Wolcott, among others. Each received heartfelt recognition for their service.
Elks clubs from across the region, including those from Newark, Lyons, and Wolcott, participated in the ceremony. The program emphasized the Elks’ ongoing commitment to honoring veterans, stating, “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.”
