The Buffalo Bills received relatively good news on middle linebacker Terrel Bernard.
NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt reported Friday afternoon that Bernard suffered a strained pectoral muscle and is expected to miss about a month.
The initial fear was that Bernard tore the muscle, which would have required season-ending surgery.
Bernard left the game in the first quarter of Thursday night’s 31-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins and did not return.
Buffalo will lean on third-year linebacker Baylon Spector during Bernard’s absence.
