Rollover Accident in Fayette Sends Clyde Man to Hospital

A rollover accident in the Town of Fayette left a Clyde man injured on Monday afternoon, according to Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson.

Deputies responded to the scene at the intersection of Marshall and Stacy Road around 1:00 p.m. on August 19, 2024, after receiving reports of a vehicle rollover with a male occupant trapped inside. The man, identified as Stephen Ward, 72, was extricated by deputies and fire personnel from the Waterloo, Fayette, and Border City Fire Departments.

The investigation revealed that Ward was traveling eastbound on Marshall Road when he veered too far to the right, causing his tire to catch the edge of the road. Unable to recover, Ward’s vehicle continued into a ditch, struck a tree, and rolled onto its passenger side.

Ward was transported to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
