Montezuma Woman Arrested for DWI After Striking Dumpster

A Montezuma woman faces multiple charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated and striking a dumpster with her vehicle, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies stopped Kimberly L. Tanner, 38, on August 18 after observing her vehicle swerve off High Street and hit a dumpster in a resident’s yard. Upon investigation, Tanner was found to have a blood alcohol content of .37%, more than four times the legal limit.


Tanner was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors, along with other traffic violations. She was processed at the Public Safety Building and released with appearance tickets.

Tanner is scheduled to appear in Montezuma Town Court on August 28.
