Seneca Meadows Inc. has submitted a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to the New York State DEC for its proposed landfill expansion.
The 164-page document, filed on July 29, outlines plans to add 47 million cubic yards of air space and raise the landfill height by 70 feet.
The DEC is currently reviewing the draft EIS and will announce a public comment period once the document is deemed complete.
The expansion would extend the landfill’s operation until 2040, pending necessary approvals from local boards and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Public hearings and further review are expected as the process moves forward.
