A federal grand jury in Memphis heard testimony Tuesday regarding a scheme to steal Graceland, the iconic estate of Elvis Presley, from his family.
The plot allegedly involved Lisa Holden, a Branson, Missouri, woman with a history of fraud and forgery. Holden is accused of attempting to force a foreclosure on Graceland by filing fake documents claiming Lisa Marie Presley owed millions in unpaid loans.
Witnesses, including former acquaintances of Holden, were subpoenaed to testify. The FBI’s Memphis office has declined to comment on the investigation, while Holden has denied any involvement.
The scam was uncovered in May when a judge dismissed the foreclosure case, citing likely forged documents.
