An 84-year-old woman was rescued Sunday afternoon after falling into a well on her Manchester property while searching for a lost pet, authorities said.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Larue Road around 3:55 p.m. to find the homeowner conscious and alert, but with visible minor injuries. Clifton Springs volunteer firefighters arrived first and secured the scene, later requesting additional help from Canandaigua and Fishers Fire Departments, who used rope rescue equipment to retrieve the woman.
The woman was extricated from the well at 4:55 p.m. and transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital with minor injuries. Multiple agencies, including the Ontario County Rope Rescue Team and Monroe County Fire Bureau Special Operations, assisted in the rescue effort.
