Thirteen students are gaining hands-on experience this summer through the FLX Summer Internship Program, hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional, and Experiential Education. Interns are exploring a diverse range of fields, from food security in Geneva to the history of women’s rights in Seneca Falls, applying their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
Students like Kateryna Romaniuk ’26 and Alden Harchick ’26 are delving into local government and small business growth, respectively. Romaniuk has focused on supporting local business initiatives, while Harchick is remodeling e-commerce platforms for small businesses. Meanwhile, Tymofi Trakhachov ’26 is bringing art to public spaces with a mural project in downtown Geneva.
Executive Director Brandi Ferrara commends the program, saying, “Our students are connecting what they learn in the classroom to practical, impactful work, all while experiencing the beauty of the Finger Lakes.”
