A Mexican citizen, Gilberto Robles Gonzalez, 39, pleaded guilty on Friday to possessing fraudulent immigration and employment documents.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York announced that Gonzalez admitted to having a counterfeit permanent resident card and a fake social security card in his name on May 6, 2024.
Gonzalez now faces up to 10 years in prison and a potential fine of $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for December 5, 2024, before U.S. District Judge Anne M. Nardacci. The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss.
