Two significant items were addressed by Auburn City Council this week at a city hall session.
The city has assumed control of a $390,000 DRI small project fund previously managed by the now-defunct Cayuga Economic Development Agency.
The City Council approved the transfer on Thursday, along with hiring MRB Group as a consultant for the fund, which supports downtown businesses with renovations and equipment purchases.
In a separate discussion, city officials detailed plans to establish a four-way stop at the intersection of Metcalf Drive and Mary Street, near Seward Elementary School, to enhance safety after a child was struck by a car in 2023.
A public hearing on the proposed change will take place on August 15.
