The New York Mets (60-54) scored three runs in the ninth to secure a 5-3 bounce-back victory over the Colorado Rockies (42-73) on Wednesday night at Coors Field.
With the game tied at two in the top of the ninth, Francisco Lindor delivered a go-ahead two-run single and Jesse Winker added to the lead with a run-scoring single before Edwin DÃaz recorded the save despite giving up a run.
Pete Alonso opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first and Tyrone Taylor had an RBI single in the second that put the Mets back on top.
Paul Blackburn made his second start with the Mets, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking two and striking out six.
The Mets look to take two of three from the Rockies on Thursday at 3:10 p.m. David Peterson will take the ball.
