A routine traffic stop in Victory turned into a chase on July 24 when Danyelle Demchock, 24, of Rochester, allegedly fled the scene after being pulled over for a traffic violation. At around 10:11 p.m., a Cayuga County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Demchock on State Route 370 for failing to keep right. The vehicle eventually stopped near Ridge Road in Red Creek.
During the stop, Demchock reportedly reentered her vehicle and drove off, prompting a pursuit by both the deputy and a New York State Police officer. Her vehicle was later stopped in Wayne County with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Demchock faces charges of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, both Class A misdemeanors. She is due in Victory Town Court on August 7.
