Waterloo man arrested again; now for possessing stolen property

A 23-year-old Waterloo man was arrested on July 23 for allegedly possessing stolen property. Matthew R. Garneau was taken into custody around 3:50 p.m. after an investigation linked him to stolen goods. He’s been arrested several times this year and has open cases in multiple towns.

The Waterloo Police Department, with assistance from the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, executed an active arrest warrant against Garneau. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

Garneau is currently held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility, awaiting central arraignment.
