DJ LeMahieu delivered a walk-off single in the 10th inning to give the New York Yankees (67-46) a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays (51-61) and a series win on Sunday evening in the Bronx after a one-hour and 49-minute rain delay.
After Trent Grisham moved Anthony Volpe to third with a sacrifice bunt in the 10th, DJ LeMahieu, facing a five-man infield, lined one through the middle for the walk-off knock.
Grisham put the Yankees on the board in the sixth with a run-scoring groundout and LeMahieu followed that with a game-tying sacrifice fly.
Juan Soto smacked a go-ahead solo shot in the seventh, his 28th of the season, but Alejandro Kirk tied it in the eighth with a sacrifice fly right before the rain started falling.
Gerrit Cole surrendered two runs on six hits in 5.2 innings while striking out four. Tommy Kahnle gave up an unearned run.
The Yankees will get the day off Monday before opening a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night in the Bronx.
