Waterloo has identified up to 15 projects for potential funding from its $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award announced in 2023.
The projects, which include both public and private endeavors, were presented at a July 31 meeting and are now under review by consultants. Eligible projects will be submitted for state approval in October.
The initiatives include improvements to the Main Street Shoppe Center, the Velte Block, the American Legion post, and enhancements to downtown infrastructure such as parking and walkways.
Officials have encouraged public attendance at meetings on September 11 and October 9 to learn more about the projects and their alignment with the village’s vision for downtown and the Cayuga-Seneca Canal connection.
