Pete Alonso crushed his 23rd home run of the season, while Francisco Alvarez and J.D. Martinez added run-scoring singles.
Paul Blackburn tossed six innings of one-run ball in his Mets debut while walking two and striking out six. José Buttó fired two scoreless before Phil Maton recorded the final three outs.
The Mets look to take the series on Saturday at 9:38 p.m. with David Peterson on the bump.
