The Penn Yan Community Band, a highlight of the Yates Concert Series, returns on August 7 for an evening of music on the courthouse lawn. The band, led by local teacher Jeff Stempien, will perform a 75-minute set starting at 6:30 p.m., with a 10-minute intermission.
Featuring musicians from diverse backgrounds, the band will offer a mix of patriotic and pop tunes. The event is sponsored by The Birkett Mills, Carey’s Lumber and Building Supply, and Long’s Cards and Books. Refreshments from the Dundee Rotary Club will be available.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, the concert will move indoors to the First Baptist Church. The series concludes on August 14 with the Southern Tier All-Star Jazz Band.
