President Joe Biden has nominated Anthony Brindisi, a former congressman and state assemblyman, as a judge for the Northern District of New York. If confirmed by the Senate, Brindisi will replace Judge David Hurd, who is transitioning to senior status.
Brindisi, a Siena College and Albany Law School alumnus, has a notable legal and political career, serving as a state Court of Claims judge and acting Supreme Court justice.
U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand praised Brindisi’s qualifications and commitment to public service, supporting his nomination. The Northern District covers 32 upstate counties, including Cayuga and Onondaga.
