Fifteen educators from ten school districts will gather in Sodus Point on Monday for a workshop on Great Lakes coastal resilience. Hosted by New York Sea Grant, the event includes tours of Lake Ontario coastal projects and sessions on incorporating these into classroom curricula.
Participants will meet with Sodus Point Mayor Dave McDowell and engage in “The Watershed Game,” designed to teach watershed management. “Sharing our experiences is vital for understanding coastal resilience,” McDowell said.
The workshop is part of a series offering educators tools to address Great Lakes challenges, such as climate change and ecosystem health.
