The City of Ithaca has extended the deadline for its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) call for projects, now set for August 21, 2024, at 5 p.m. This initiative, which could secure $10 million in state funding, aims to support transformative projects that enhance downtown Ithaca’s vibrancy and community spirit.

A public meeting originally scheduled for August 19 has been rescheduled to September 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tompkins County Public Library. Mayor Robert Cantelmo expressed enthusiasm for the projects submitted so far and believes the extended deadline will strengthen Ithaca’s DRI application.
Public input remains a crucial component, with the city encouraging community members to participate via online surveys and polls available on the application website. The community’s engagement will help shape a competitive DRI application aimed at revitalizing downtown Ithaca.
