The Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Board of Education has named Shannon Brown as the new Director of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development, effective early August.
Brown, currently the principal of the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center, holds degrees in communications, education, and nursing. Her experience includes teaching at the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District and serving as principal at West Genesee High School.
“We created this leadership position to advance NYSED’s new Profile of a Graduate and new graduation pathways,” said District Superintendent Lynne Rutnik. “Shannon’s expertise and passion for our students make her the ideal choice for this critical role.” Brown expressed her excitement to collaborate with educators and industry professionals to enhance CTE and workforce initiatives in the region.
