Sean Manaea tossed seven shutout innings as the New York Mets (57-50) blanked the Minnesota Twins (58-48), 2-0, on Tuesday night at Citi Field.
Manaea gave up just two hits and a walk while striking out a season-high 11 batters.
J.D. Martinez drove in the first run with an RBI single in the fourth inning, scoring Brandon Nimmo. Mark Vientos blasted his 15th home run of the season in the fifth and that was all the Mets needed.
Ryne Stanek (0.2 IP) and Edwin DÃaz (1.0 IP) posted scoreless outings.
The Mets go for the three-game sweep on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m. Luis Severino will take the ball.
