North Shore Ambulance Service announced Friday it is ceasing operations immediately due to severe financial difficulties. The non-profit volunteer company, which has served the Towns of Constantia and Vienna and the Village of Cleveland for 37 years, cited low reimbursement rates, direct-to-patient insurance payments, rising costs, and lack of funding as key reasons for the closure.
CEO Avery Dennis expressed deep regret over the decision, emphasizing the company’s unwavering commitment to the North Shore community’s well-being. “The challenges we face are beyond our capacity to overcome,” Dennis stated.
