McDonald’s has announced that its $5 value meal deal will continue through August at most U.S. locations. The extension follows a vote by about 93% of its restaurants in favor of the plan.
The deal, which began on June 25, aims to attract customers facing financial pressure by offering a budget-friendly option. The $5 meal has successfully increased traffic to McDonald’s restaurants as higher fast-food prices had led some customers to opt for cheaper home-cooked meals.
The extension comes amid similar promotions from competitors. Burger King recently offered a $5 “Your Way deal,” and Wendy’s introduced a $3 breakfast meal deal in May.
