State police have given an update on the fatal accident involving a young child last week in Fayette.
According to troopers, an 18-month-old died after an adult driver backed over the child.
The adult was apparently unaware that the child was outside the vehicle. The incident took place on Aunkst Road in Fayette around 4:00 p.m. this past Tuesday. The driver was identified as 33-year-old Sarah Wise.
The investigation remains active at this time. However, police said they don’t expect criminal charges to be filed.
