The Penn Yan Diner has received approval to start rebuilding after a devastating fire earlier this year caused significant damage.
The diner shared an update with the community: “We are excited to announce that our patience has paid off, and we have been approved to start the first phase of the diner rebuild! We have a long road ahead, but with your continued support, we can come back better than ever.”
The diner is asking for help from the community to share old photos and stories, especially those of the building’s interior, to use as inspiration for the rebuild. Photos and stories can be sent to pennyandiner@gmail.com.
The diner also appreciates the ongoing support through their GoFundMe page, which has helped cover monthly bills, rent a storage container to save what they can, and bring in dehumidifiers to address water damage. “We couldn’t have done all this without your support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
