NY Lt. Gov. Delgado urges Biden to step aside

New York Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado has called on President Joe Biden to drop his reelection bid, clashing with Gov. Kathy Hochul, who supports Biden. Delgado praised Biden’s achievements but suggested he step aside for a new leader.

Delgado’s statement on social media made him the first statewide Democrat in New York to publicly ask Biden, 81, to withdraw. This comes after Biden’s poor debate performance last month.

Gov. Hochul, a strong Biden supporter, reaffirmed her confidence in the president, emphasizing the need for Democrats to unite and focus on defeating Donald Trump in November.
