Shots fired on South Plain St. in Ithaca: Police investigating

Ithaca Police responded to reports of gunshots on the 100 block of South Plain Street around 9 PM on July 9.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed multiple shots were fired. The area was temporarily closed for investigation and has since reopened. There are no reported injuries or property damage, and it appears the involved parties knew each other.

The New York State Police, New York State Park Police, and Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Ithaca Police at 607-272-3245 or submit an anonymous tip at www.cityofithaca.org/ipdtips.
