NYS Thruway Authority warns of E-ZPass scam

The New York State Thruway Authority is alerting the public about a scam involving E-ZPass. Scammers are sending fake texts and emails, pretending to be from E-ZPass or Tolls By Mail, to steal personal information.

The Thruway Authority posted on Facebook, reminding people that E-ZPass will never ask for sensitive details like credit card numbers or social security information via email or text. If you receive such a request, do not respond or provide any information.
