Villages in Cayuga County continue DRI planning process

  • Staff Report

Three Cayuga County villages, Aurora, Cayuga, and Union Springs, are planning how to use their $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant. The local planning committee will meet on Monday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Union Springs Fire Hall to review project submissions. The meeting is open to the public and includes a comment period.

Additionally, consultants will host a pop-up event on Friday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. during the Music in the Park concert at Frontenac Park in Union Springs. This event aims to discuss the DRI process and gather community feedback.

The DRI grant, announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul in February, supports downtown development. The committee, with members from each village, began meeting in May to develop a strategic plan. Final project selections will be announced in early 2025.
