Waterloo Container is backing the “Cereal for Summer” campaign by donating $2,000 to help provide breakfast for children in need. The campaign, led by the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Program and supported by local law enforcement, aims to collect cereal and breakfast items for children during the summer break.

The effort began as a collection drive and turned into a friendly competition among county law enforcement, initiated by Seneca Falls Police Department’s clerks. The drive collected over 1,600 boxes of cereal to help fight child hunger.

Seneca Falls Police Chief Tim Snyder expressed gratitude for the community’s support, emphasizing the importance of providing children with nutritious breakfasts to help them thrive. Waterloo Container President Bill Lutz hopes the donation will help meet the program’s goals, ensuring children have access to essential meals during the summer.
