Yankees comeback falls short in another loss to Reds (highlights)

The losses continue to pile up for the New York Yankees (54-34) as they fell 3-2 on Wednesday night to the Cincinnati Reds (41-45) at Yankee Stadium. New York is 5-13 in their last 18 games.

The Yankees fell behind 3-0 before scoring two in the seventh to cut the deficit to one. They had several opportunities to tie or take the lead late but couldn’t come up with the big hit.

Anthony Volpe drove in both runs with a double.

Carlos Rodón surrendered three runs over 5.1 innings while striking out eight. Michael Tonkin, Tommy Kahnle, and Clay Holmes combined for 3.2 scoreless.
