Governor Kathy Hochul announced that New York State has recovered over $63 million in stolen wages for nearly 65,000 workers in the past two years.

The New York State Department of Labor investigated numerous wage theft cases, including over $1 million recovered for more than 20,000 Chipotle workers across the state. Governor Hochul emphasized her commitment to ensuring workers receive fair pay.

“Wage theft is stealing, plain and simple,” Governor Hochul said. “We’ve returned millions to hardworking New Yorkers.” Workers are encouraged to report wage theft via the Wage Theft Hotline at 833-910-4378 or use the Department of Labor’s online reporting tool.
