Deputies: Romulus rollover crash caused by driver who tried passing four cars on SR 89

Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a rollover accident on State Route 89 in Romulus on June 21 at around 11:30 AM.

Richard Gunderman, 64, of Endicott, was driving north when he tried to pass four cars. One car slowed to turn left, causing Gunderman to swerve, hit a ditch, and crash into a telephone pole before rolling into a vineyard. He was treated for neck and chest pain at the scene and taken to Cayuga Medical Center.

Gunderman received tickets for unsafe passing, speeding, and unsafe lane changes.
