The Canandaigua Town Board revised a proposed pay raise for Highway and Water Superintendent James Fletcher during their June 24 meeting.

Originally, the board considered a $45,000 raise, but they now propose a $15,000 increase, raising Fletcher’s salary as highway superintendent from $60,000 to $75,000. There will be no pay increase for his role as water superintendent.

A public hearing on the new proposal will be held in July. The initial proposal, introduced in May, highlighted Fletcher’s exceptional performance and expanded duties over the past 15 years.
