The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 31-year-old following a sex assault investigation involving a young child.
Luke Gunnip, 31, of Ira was arrested for first-degree criminal sex act following an investigation where it’s alleged he engaged in sexual conduct with a person in 2013 who was less than 11 years old at the time.
Gunnip was arraigned and held at the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 or $50,000 bail.
The investigation into this incident remains active. Anyone with information about Gunnip is urged to contact the sheriff’s office.
