Committee Formed to Evaluate Bridgeport Fire District Facilities in Seneca Falls

A special committee has been created to assess the equipment storage needs for the Bridgeport Fire District, which serves Seneca Falls. This decision follows a vote by residents to sell the firehouse on Lower Lake Road and a nearby boathouse on Cayuga Lake, both valued at over $100,000.

James Varricchio, the new chair of the Board of Fire Commissioners, stated that the committee will determine the best storage plan before proceeding with the property sales. “We want to have a clear plan for our equipment before making any moves,” he said.

The main firehouse is located on East Bayard Street, while the unused Lower Lake Road firehouse, built in 1990, and the boathouse have been deemed surplus properties.
