Mrs. Joanne Saracino is retiring after 38 years of teaching at Lyons Elementary School, where she has made a lasting impact since 1986.

Mrs. Saracino started as a 2nd grade teacher and later switched to 4th grade, where she found her passion. “I’m going to miss the kids so much,” she said. “Lyons is a great place to work because you know they need you.”

Principal Chris Taylor praised Mrs. Saracino’s dedication to embracing new teaching methods and building strong relationships. “Her commitment to the community and passion for teaching is unique,” Ms. Taylor said. Mrs. Saracino looks forward to traveling, exploring genealogy, and participating in theater.
