It’s been a rough week for the New York Yankees (51-27) as they suffered their third straight loss on Friday night in the Bronx and their fourth in five games after falling 8-1 to the Atlanta Braves (42-31).

Carlos Rodón struggled for a second straight start, allowing all eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits in 3.2 innings.

On top of that, the offense was mostly silenced as they managed just three hits and scored their lone run in the second on a DJ LeMahieu groundout. Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton went a combined 1-for-11 with six strikeouts.

Yoendrys Gómez did a nice job in relief, tossing 4.2 scoreless before Phil Bickford recorded two outs.

Box Score

The Yankees will try to bounce back and even this series on Saturday with Marcus Stroman on the hill. The first pitch is slated for 7:15 p.m.
