Both utilities failed to meet metrics for reliability and safety in electric and gas services. Avangrid, the parent company, attributed the issues to post-pandemic challenges and staffing shortages. Despite these setbacks, Avangrid stated they are making improvements, including hiring new staff and upgrading technology.

Avangrid highlighted progress, noting reduced estimated bills and quicker call responses. They are also investing over $2.1 billion in grid modernization and other projects to enhance service reliability.
