Five people were injured, with three taken to the hospital, after a multi-vehicle crash in Ithaca’s west end late Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at South Meadow Street and West Green Street, prompting a Tompkins SIREN alert for residents to avoid the area.
Fire officials said two of the injured were treated at the scene. A house on West Green Street sustained damage to its porch, but no one inside was hurt. Emergency responders closed the block of West Green Street between Meadow and Corn Streets, as well as two northbound lanes of South Meadow Street, to manage the situation.
A follow-up alert at 10:37 p.m. confirmed the scene was clear. All five injured were in the vehicles involved in the crash.
