It was an ugly and embarrassing Thursday evening in the Bronx as the New York Yankees (51-26) were blown out by the Baltimore Orioles (49-25), 17-5, and dropped two of three in the series.

Luis Gil turned in the worst start of his Major League career, allowing seven runs on eight hits over 1.1 innings.

Michael Tonkin, Tim Hill, Ron Marinaccio, Victor González, Caleb Ferguson, and Jose Trevino combined to allow 10 runs.

Aaron Judge hit his Major League-leading 27th home run of the season and added an RBI single. Gleyber Torres also went deep before leaving the game with tightness in his right groin. Juan Soto had a run-scoring groundout.

The Yankees will try to snap their two-game skid when they open a three-game series with the Atlanta Braves on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Carlos Rodón will take the ball.
