Judge Stacey Romeo Announces State Supreme Court Candidacy

Monroe County Family Court Judge Stacey Romeo has declared her candidacy for the New York State Supreme Court in the Seventh Judicial District. This district includes Cayuga, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates counties.

Judge Romeo, serving as Monroe County Family Court Judge since 2017 and Acting Supreme Court Justice since 2019, aims to bring fairness and respect to the courtroom. “I’m running to ensure everyone is treated impartially,” she said. Romeo has a long history of judicial experience and currently supervises Family Court across the Seventh Judicial District.


Romeo’s commitment to the community is evident through her leadership roles in various judicial and legal groups. She is actively involved in the Monroe County Child Welfare Collaborative and the Family Court Alternatives to Dispute Resolution Committee. Additionally, she has been recognized with the Power 50 Award by The Daily Record and the Rochester Business Journal in 2022 and 2023.

The election for two State Supreme Court seats will be held on November 5, 2024, with early voting available from October 26 to November 3. Absentee ballots are also an option for those who qualify.
