Authorities are investigating the death of an 80-year-old woman found near a dock on Honeoye Lake Tuesday evening. New York State Police responded to the scene on County Road 36 around 8:30 p.m. and discovered the woman’s body with no signs of foul play.
The woman’s identity has not been released, and the cause of death remains unclear.
As summer approaches and more people head to the water, police remind swimmers to have an emergency action plan and always swim with a partner.
Swimmers should also be aware of water temperatures to avoid hypothermia.
