Sheriff Timothy J. Thompson, Jr. announced a new Traffic Safety Initiative to tackle aggressive driving and speeding in response to citizen complaints.
Starting immediately, Sheriff’s Deputies will increase patrols in problem areas, focusing on traffic enforcement and education. This initiative comes during the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day, a period known for high rates of serious accidents.
“We often receive traffic complaints but can’t always address them due to other calls,” said Sheriff Thompson. “With this initiative, we will dedicate patrols to improve safety and quality of life in our neighborhoods.”
