The City of Corning is developing a new 20-year comprehensive plan, the first since 2002. On Thursday evening, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee held an open house at Corning-Painted Post High School to gather input from residents, business owners, and workers.

Community members shared their ideas using post-it notes and stickers, emphasizing the need for more recreational spaces, a better downtown, and street improvements. Environmental values, recreation, growth, and arts and culture were top priorities.

Officials are still collecting feedback through an online survey. The draft plan, incorporating community input, will be reviewed and finalized by mid-2025.
