A developer plans to convert parts of the Ithaca Mall into a self-storage facility.
The Ithaca Voice reports the Bahlmann Capital Group proposed transforming spaces once occupied by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ulta, DSW, and Best Buy into climate-controlled storage units.
The project aims to address the mall’s vacancy issues by repurposing underused retail space. The new facility will include state-of-the-art security and amenities and will be managed by CubeSmart, a major self-storage company.
The project is expected to receive necessary approvals to go forward.
