A state judge has dismissed some claims in a sexual abuse lawsuit against the Auburn Enlarged City School District but is allowing other claims to proceed to trial.

The lawsuit, filed by former student Pamela Deacon O’Grady in 2019, alleges the district failed to prevent or report sexual abuse by former music teacher Thomas R. Camp in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Judge Joseph Waldorf dismissed claims of failing to provide a safe environment and report child abuse but allowed claims of inadequate supervision and failure to stop the abuse to go forward.

The case is set for trial on Nov. 13, 2024. Both sides have appealed the decision.
